Vote for Dorrigo Landcare Group

Dorrigo Mountain Top Landcare Group and Community have been nominated in the people's choice award of the National Landcare Awards which will be announced in 23 October.

The National Landcare Awards happen every two years and the Dorrigo people have a good chance if winning with your support! They already have the support of Jack Thompson who said:

'Waterfall Way is the scenic Road between the coast and Armidale that passes through the Dorrigo district. It's among the top three scenic drives in Australia. Dorrigo Mountain Top Landcare Group came together in 1991 to plant native trees that would beautify Waterfall Way and provide shelter for cattle in the adjacent paddocks. What started as a small project grew - and now their vision of a network of wildlife corridors across the farming landscape connecting two national parks is becoming a reality with 50,000 trees established, 160 hectares of rainforest and 80 kilometres of creek fenced off and 70 cattle troughs provided as alternative watering sources.'

Register your vote to help tip them over the line ahead of the others. Go to the Landcare Heroes website. The Landcare Group are category 7 nominees - 'Conserving our Wilderness'. Click on Categories and Sponsors, then Conserving our Wilderness to cast your vote.
